Supported by a steel and concrete skin the interior volumes containing the living and resting spaces can be rearranged by adding or removing rooms. By using locally sourced lark timber to dress up the facade the architects embedded the modern architecture into the surrounding landscape.
The neutral shade selected for its walls impart warmth and luxurious outlook to this outstanding edifice. Architects succeeded in imparting an urban touch to this years-old structure. The pool expensive furniture glass wall carpets and lighting all have contributed significantly to redefine its old-fashioned outlook.
There is a separate dining room for family off the kitchen. The fashionable kitchen sports all kinds of modern utensils arranged neatly and organized. Garage servant’s space and general purpose spaces are located in a level below.
Located in a windy landscape it offers a warm stay around the year. Full height glass walls bring exterior into interior of this house. The exterior of this landlocked location is blessed with beautiful natural terrain- hills valleys and marvelous façade.
The Nettleton 199 project partner Greg Truen states the task was to create a building which would give a maximum view of the sea and to create a garden beside the mountain located near the site. They also wanted minimal exposure to the neighboring buildings. The residence overlooks the Atlantic Ocean to the west and its design gives prime-most importance to privacy such that it offers least vision to neighboring houses.
Besides the private spaces the common living and entertaining zones gather the family together in a carefully designed atmosphere. Overlooking agricultural fields in the backside the house was created to protect the inhabitants’ privacy while offering them private views over the quiet relaxing surroundings.
Previously a major portion of the house was constructed using wood. It was later replaced with stone and concrete with a little wooden slab in walls and roof. The renovation has found space for a new guest house and pool. The new structure erected with ample reinforcement to resist tectonic shifts and earthquakes.
